CAMPAIGN PHILOSOPHY

I will continue my philosophy of placing “people before politics,” and characterize my campaign by four words: Vision, Courage, Integrity, and Responsibility. In addition, I will continually seek creative, responsible, and common-sense solutions to the challenges before us, affordable solutions that will uphold the greatness of our towns and of our state, while preserving the uniqueness and characteristics of that town we have chosen to call our home.

I am a strong advocate for limited government, free enterprise and states’ rights. As a state legislator, I sponsored numerous bills in pursuit of these initiatives, including Right to Work legislation, a Private Property Protection Act that protected private property from being taken by government, a bill that established the Distance Learning Commission (setting the stage for on-line education in NH), legislation that prohibited the use of your social security number for identification purposes to protect you from identity theft, a Lyme disease bill that made it possible for NH Lyme victims to receive the care they need in-state, rather than having to go out-of-state, and legislation designed to bring transparency to state government contracts.

Creating pro-economic growth policies that foster economic prosperity, create private sector jobs, and relieve businesses of burdensome regulation that does not affect the safety and welfare of employees have been at the forefront of my legislative priorities. Healthcare and education also remain significant issues that still need to be addressed to create acceptable New Hampshire-based solutions.

I take personal interest in the towns I represent and make a concerted effort to stay connected with them, talking and listening to residents and officials so that I thoroughly understand the issues facing each respective town.

“A wise and frugal government shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.” ~ Thomas Jefferson
